It's been the Indianapolis Colts' offense getting most of the headlines this offseason, thanks to the signing of Philip Rivers, but they just made a very interesting move on the defensive side of the ball as well.

Indy's defensive line is already stacked, with Justin Houston and DeForest Buckner anchoring things, and now it's going to be a deep unit following the addition of former New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth.

Stallworth only played 93 snaps in the 2019 season, but he graded out well in that small sample, getting a 65.5 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. He made 7 solo tackles while also notching 2 hurries as a pass-rusher.

The former South Carolina Gamecock won't get much playing time behind Buckner, Denico Autry and even Grover Stewart on the depth chart, but at just 24 years old he could develop into a solid rotational player while offering depth in case one of those three gets hurt.

This isn't a splashy move, but it's quiet, solid moves like this one that help build the foundation of a successful football team. This could prove especially true in the 2020 season, when coronavirus concerns could force teams to use their bench players more than usual.
