Christian McCaffrey Injury Update Skyrockets Fantasy Outlook

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey has been sidelined for the last three games with a shoulder injury. However, McCaffrey is expected to return in Week 14 against the Denver Broncos, which is fantastic news for fantasy managers who have him rostered.

Christian McCaffrey Fantasy Outlook

McCaffrey is a centerpiece of the Panthers' offense, but he's only been able to suit up in three games so far this season due to various injury troubles.

McCaffrey has produced like one of the top RBs when healthy, averaging 26.0 opportunities (19.7 rushes plus 6.3 targets) and 124.7 yards from scrimmage per game. CMC is a threat to dice up opposing defenses on the ground or through the air, racking up 6 total touchdowns in just three appearances this season.

The running back is a fantasy monster, averaging 30.1 PPR points per game. McCaffrey's last appearance, in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs, saw the running back go off for a season-high 37.1 fantasy points thanks to 10 receptions, 151 yards from scrimmage and two total touchdowns.

McCaffrey has played in no less than 64% of the team's offensive snaps in his three games this season. He should immediately resume his RB1-level workload and production in Week 14, when he'll face a Broncos defense that is allowing 22.86 PPR points per game to running backs this year.

Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook

Mike Davis has averaged a respectable 11.12 PPR points in the nine games that CMC has missed. However, Davis hasn't played in more than 33% of the team's snaps in the three games when McCaffrey has been in the lineup.

He won't see enough touches to be worth rostering going forward, as his only value is as a bench stash in case McCaffrey gets injured again.
