One of the biggest conversations leading up to the draft was whether it was going to be Herbert or Tua Tagovailoa going as the second QB off the board (after Joe Burrow at No. 1 overall). Herbert had actually taken over as the favorite for a short time, but as the first round approached he slid behind Tua in the odds again.
In a head-to-head matchup on who would be drafted first, the odds on FanDuel Sportsbook had Tua as a -200 favorite, compared to +158 for Herbert.
After Joe Burrow, which QB will be drafted first?

Tua or Herbert? https://t.co/SLrfzzNgQf
Considering Herbert to the Chargers was widely projected as the most likely situation, with Tua expected to go to Miami for most of the offseason, sharp bettors who got plus odds on the situation have to be feeling pretty good. Right up until the start of the draft, the Chargers were available with +140 odds to be Herbert's landing spot.
It remains to be seen if Herbert will start over Tyrod Taylor in Week 1, but the Chargers will certainly be looking for him to take over the reins as the franchise quarterback as soon as possible.
