Bruce Arians Opens Up on Tom Brady Relationship After Retirement

When Bruce Arians retired a few weeks after Tom Brady's "unretirement" earlier this offseason, rumors began to swirl that the former's exit was a mandatory part of the quarterback's return. After all, NFL rumor-starters seem to love their head coach-quarterback disputes.
Arians put those rumors to bed over the weekend at his family's Celebrity Golf Classic. When asked about a potential feud between the two of them, Arians talked about a recent gift that Brady got him that proves that it's all love between the two Buccaneers fan favorites.
Bruce Arians said Tom Brady on Sunday sent him a photo of a $50,000 watch Brady got for him. "Who does that if we hate each other?" Arians asked. "As soon as he’s back in town, we’ll play golf.” #Bucs #GoBucs #TomBrady https://t.co/JP5uQ0s5ZF

Arians said that Brady sent him a picture over the weekend of a $50,000 watch (yes, you read that right) that the quarterback bought for his former head coach. Arians added that the two will play golf when Brady is back in Tampa, which isn't something they'd do if they truly "hate each other."
Even though he's attempted to shut down the rumors, Arians acknowledged that some people likely won't believe that his relationship with Brady is as good as he says it is.
"It’s never going to go away, no matter what anyone says. It’s a national narrative that they think they know, but they don’t."

Even though Arians won't be the Buccaneers' head coach this Fall, he'll still have an opportunity to work with Brady in some form as the organization's senior football consultant. It may not be as direct of a relationship as before, but it's clear that the two want to stay on good terms with each other, at least personally.
The Buccaneers need all facets of their organization to get along if they hope to win their second championship in three years next season. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently giving them the second-best odds (+750) to end the 2022 NFL campaign as Super Bowl LVII champions.
