After making a lot of noise this past offseason by spending a lot of money and bringing in much-needed talent, the cart got ahead of the horse for many people, declaring the Cleveland Browns as Super Bowl LIV contenders in the 2019-20 NFL season.

Now, the Browns need all the help they can get, with their odds to make the NFL Playoffs leaving only a sliver of hope ahead of Week 16.

Browns Odds to Make Playoffs

Following a bad road loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15, Cleveland sits third in the AFC North, with a 6-8 record. With the Baltimore Ravens clinching the division already, the only shot for the Browns to make the postseason is through the AFC Wild Card, which they would need a lot of help to steal.

Football Outsiders gives the Browns just a 1.0 percent chance of making the NFL Playoffs ahead of this weekend. And FanDuel Sportsbook isn't any more optimistic, having taken the Browns off the book for team futures bets to make the postseason entirely.

Prior to their Week 15 loss, the Browns were already staring at +900 odds of making the postseason, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Browns are a great example of how the NFL is different from some of the other major sports, where wins are still hard to buy through free agency and a historic turnaround almost never happens simply overnight.

Unfortunately for the Dawg Pound, it looks like it's already on to the next season or, perhaps, even the next decade after that Week 15 loss to the Cardinals left the Browns as the only NFL team without a winning record in at least one season since 2010.
