Baker Mayfield looked poised for superstardom entering last season. He's a charismatic, outspoken personality who is equally as exciting on the field as he is off of it. But Mayfield, along with the rest of the Cleveland Browns organization, failed to live up to expectations in 2019.

Thanks to a fantastic offseason, though, all signs point to a bounce-back year in Cleveland. Another strong indicator of this has been Mayfield's leadership throughout offseason, which has gotten the attention of the Browns new offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt.

According to ESPN's Jake Trotter, Van Pelt revealed that Mayfield has been participating in offensive meetings that are not mandatory for the 25-year-old. Given how much responsibility the quarterback shoulders, fans have to love seeing Mayfield take part in meetings with his skill-position group.

It's also a sign that Mayfield has learned from the mistakes that followed him last season.

Quotes like this prove Mayfield might finally be ready to meet the lofty expectations fans have had for him since his stellar rookie season.
