Denver Broncos fans have plenty to be excited about in 2020. After opening last season with Joe Flacco at QB, they turned to Drew Lock down the stretch, and the rookie impressed as the team went 4-1 under his command. In addition to a promising young signal-caller, the Broncos still boast a great defense, have added Melvin Gordon to the backfield and could make a splash in the NFL Draft.
With that in mind, here's a full preview of the Broncos' 2020 NFL season potential outcomes and projected achievements, according to odds from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Broncos Win Total
Oddsmakers don't seem to think the Broncos will be improved enough to post a significantly improved record in 2020. Their win total over/under is set at 7.5, with equal odds on each side. This suggests the betting markets expect Denver to be just as likely to remain stagnant or take a step back in 2020 as they are to improve.
Broncos Odds to Make NFL Playoffs
Even with the expanded playoff format, notching just 7 or 8 wins isn't going to make you a favorite for a playoff berth. Accordingly, the Broncos have +162 odds to make the postseason, compared to -205 odds to miss the playoffs again.
Broncos Odds to Win AFC West
Even if Denver does take a big leap forward, winning the division would be an incredibly tough task. The AFC West houses the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (-390), and Denver is third (also behind the Los Angeles Chargers) in the odds to win the division, at +1100.
Broncos Odds to Win AFC Championship
While they're not quite being considered bottom-feeders, the Broncos are only 11th in the odds to win the AFC Championship in 2020, at +2500. The Chiefs are unsurprisingly favored, at +300, and the only AFC West team with worse odds are the Las Vegas Raiders (+3000).
Broncos Odds to Win Super Bowl LV
At +5000, the Broncos are tied with the Arizona Cardinals at No. 22 in odds to win the Super Bowl. This is good for an implied probability of only 2.0 percent, and such a low mark isn't exactly surprising given their poor odds to even make the playoffs, let alone win the AFC.
