The Cincinnati Bengals are currently preparing to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, a situation they found themselves in one year ago as well.

Bengals Claim Chris Lammons

On Wednesday, they Bengals made a shrewd move in an effort to get a potential edge on the Chiefs ahead of Sunday's clash. Cincinnati claimed cornerback Chris Lammons off of waivers from Kansas City.

Lammons cannot join the team until Feb. 13, but it does now provide the Bengals an opportunity to try and get some insider info from a guy that has been with the Chiefs organization since 2019.

The move also prevents Lammons from returning to KC's practice squad. There's no telling if that was Cincy's plan, or if it truly sees an on-the-field need for Lammons, but you can't knock them for trying, even it it's both.

Lammons has never started a game for the Chiefs in three seasons, but he did appear in 16 contests this season, mainly on special teams.

The Bengals are currently 1-point favorites against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
