The Cleveland Browns will look to build off of their momentum from 2020 and put together another successful season in 2021. Starting quarterback Baker Mayfield heads into training camp as one of the team's leaders, but he is being disrespected when it comes to his NFL MVP odds.

Baker Mayfield NFL MVP Odds

Mayfield currently has odds set at +2900 to be named NFL MVP next season, according to NFL future odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. That mark ranks behind 10 other NFL players including another quarterback within his own division in Baltimore Raven Lamar Jackson (+1700).

When it comes down to it, Mayfield has all the tools and weapons to make a great MVP case in 2021. The Browns are stacked at every offensive position led by dynamic playmakers in wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and running back Nick Chubb. Plus, he will be protected once again after being sacked just 26 times last season (eighth fewest in NFL).

The former Oklahoma Sooner led Cleveland to an 11-5 record and the team's first playoff appearance since 2002 last year. He needs to replicate that kind of performance and easily could as the Browns are expected to be true contenders. In fact, they enter the season tied for the seventh-best odds in the NFL to win the Super Bowl at +1700.

Mayfield definitely isn't a perfect passer and still needs to improve his decision-making, but he has been steadily improving ever since bing drafted No. 1 overall in 2018. All things considered, he should be more of a top-five option in the odds rather than a borderline top-10 option.
