Most NFL fans know by now that Philip Rivers is a big family guy, both literally and figuratively. At current count, the recently retired NFL quarterback is the father of nine children. That's a sizable family any way you slice it. Though it isn't a family dynamic that everyone is used to, including Rivers' own teammates.

How Many Kids Does Philip Rivers Have?

In a recent appearance on the Dan LeBatard Show, Austin Ekeler revealed his reaction to the first time he saw Philip Rivers with all of his kids at once. There were so many of them that Ekeler believed his former QB was hosting a meet and greet.

This is certainly a reaction one could understand. You don't exactly expect someone to have nine kids.

The Rivers family might not be a meet and greet, but when you include the QB and his wife, they have the numbers to field a full offense. That is the definition of a football family.
