The Houston Astros are rolling to end of the month of June. They currently own a 42-28 record, just 1.0 games behind the Oakland Athletics for first place in the AL West, and look like serious World Series contenders.
However, third baseman Alex Bregman recently went down with a quad injury, and his return doesn't seem imminent.
Alex Bregman Injury Update
The two-time All-Star told reporters after Saturday's game that there's no timetable for his return. It's also unclear if Bregman has a Grade 1 or 2 quad strain, which would obviously shed light on how long he'll be out.
It's unfortunate to hear Bregman won't be in the lineup anytime soon, although manager Dusty Baker warned about that possibility earlier this week. The third baseman has hit 7 home runs and 34 RBI while slashing .275/.359/.428 this season.
The Astros will look to stand strong with the All-Star on the shelf. Houston currently owns the fifth-best odds to win the World Series at +1100, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
