Adam Thielen returned to action in Week 15 for the first time since aggravating his hamstring injury in Week 9, but he turned in a disappointing fantasy score, catching three passes for 27 yards.

The Minnesota Vikings receiver missed four straight games his injury, and his slow return makes him a hard option to trust in the Vikings' matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.

Adam Thielen Fantasy Outlook

When healthy and rolling, Thielen is a dynamic pass-catcher who can control the middle of the field from the slot. Prior to his hamstring injury, he averaged 15.4 PPR points per game, scoring seven touchdowns in those seven games. That was a drop-off from 2018's impressive 19.2 points per game, but still very good.

However, Thielen played in just 51% of offensive snaps in Week 15, a steep decline from when he played 83% of snaps from Week 1 to Week 7. While some of that can definitely be put down to the Vikings resting their stars during a blowout win, Thielen's lack of action is concerning due to his slow recovery from his hamstring injury, particularly since he saw just three targets in the return.

The Vikings' matchup against the Packers does not bode well for their passing game, either. While the Vikings will likely be without Dalvin Cook, they will still likely lean on their usual run-heavy offense against a struggling Packers run defense. The Packers check in at 16th against the pass but only 25th against the run by Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metrics.

Because of the uncertainty around his health, our Week 16 fantasy football PPR rankings have Thielen as the No. 24 wideout for the week.
