Aaron Rodgers has been taking a lot of bumps and bruises lately. Prior to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, it was revealed that he's been playing with a broken thumb since Week 5. His injury woes only worsened during Sunday night's game, as he was forced to exit with a rib injury.
After the game, Rodgers responded to questions about his ability to suit up going forward.
Aaron Rodgers Injury Update
The Packers lost again on Sunday, falling to 4-8 on the season. Even so, Rodgers said he would like to keep playing as long as his team still has a chance at the playoffs.
Their odds may be dwindling, but Green Bay is still technically alive for now. The Packers would need to win all five of their remaining games just to finish with a winning record, and even that probably wouldn't be enough.
As frustrating as this season has been for Rodgers and Green Bay, he doesn't want to quit on his team just yet. That kind of commitment is honorable, even if it realistically makes more sense for the 38-year-old to shut it down and save his body for next season.
It's currently unclear whether Rodgers will be available for Week 13's NFC North clash against the Chicago Bears. The Packers are currently listed as 2.5-point road favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, although it remains to be seen if Jordan Love will end up starting in Rodgers' place.
