The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers will meet for the third time this season with plenty on the line Monday night. The Lakers are in desperate need of a win if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Clippers, meanwhile, need a win to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race.

Currently, the Lakers are slim 3.5-point favorites in this one, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, and if you plan to bet on this game, you may want to hear what some of the experts have to say first.

Here are a few expert predictions for Monday's showdown between the Lakers and Clippers.

Lakers vs Clippers Predictions

WagerTalk News

Nikos Lagouretos, of WagerTalk News, fully expects the Lakers to both win straight up and cover up to a 4-point spread despite their recent struggles. However, Lagouretos does note that the Clippers have been a lot better against the spread (ATS) recently, posting a 7-3 ATS record over their last 10 games.

Tonys Picks

Tonys Picks is predicting a 117-115 victory in favor of the Lakers tonight, largely because they believe the Lakers have a lot more to play for than the Clippers. However, they do note that the Lakers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games, and 11 of their last 18 games against Pacific Division opponents have hit the under.

ESPN Basketball Power Index Matchup Predictor

Despite the Clippers' recent run of success, ESPN's BPI is leaning toward the Lakers in this one, giving them a 58.5 percent chance to beat their in-town rivals straight up tonight.

Overall, all three of our highlighted expert predictions are backing the Lakers to win straight up, but only 1-of-2 spread picks is calling for the Lakers to cover a 3.5-point spread as the favorites.
