It seems like a simple concept – see the open receiver and throw him the football. However, there is one quarterback that seems to have trouble with this.

Although the move won't become official until mid-March, Joe Flacco was just traded to the Denver Broncos and he'll likely inherit the starting quarterback position.

Perhaps, they should have done some research on NFL Next Gen Stats first and to see that Flacco has the worst yards per attempt (7.5) and second-worst success rate (58%) on throws to open receivers. An open receiver is defined by having three yards or more of separation from the defender.

Going to Denver might not have been the best move for Flacco's career anyways. After all, he's obviously trending downward on the back-half of his career, but it's not like the Broncos' offense has a stockpile of talent around him.

Their top offensive weapon, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, tore his Achilles late in the season and the defensive side of the ball has gotten worse with the recent release of linebacker Brandon Marshall.

The Broncos currently have the look of a team who will be a run-first team this season. It's probably best to avoid Flacco and most of the Denver receivers in all fantasy formats in 2019.
