The Tampa Bay Lightning have been the most dominant team in hockey this year and are running away with the Eastern Conference. Naturally, it only makes sense that they're the odds-on favorite to represent the conference in the Stanley Cup finals.

With an incredible 86 points through 56 games played and a commanding 14-point lead over the second-best team in the conference, the Lightning (+140) are favorites to win the Prince of Wales Trophy (awarded to the winner of the Eastern Conference) this season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook

Tampa seems almost unstoppable at this point in the season and has taken almost every team its played to the cleaners. It has a league-best +61 goal differential and league-leading 217 goals on the year.

Tampa is head and shoulders above every other team in the NHL according to the numbers, but one team that could possibly knock them off is the Toronto Maple Leafs, who currently own the second-best odds to win the Eastern Conference at (+500). Toronto has plenty of offensive firepower of its own in John Tavares and Auston Matthews and is responsible for one of Tampa's three losses within the division this season.

While at times the Lightning seem unbeatable, Toronto could potentially be one of the teams in the east that presents a problem in the playoffs.
