Not only was there plenty of controversy for the final spot in the College Football Playoff, but Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's mediocre performance in the SEC Championship game opened the door for a Heisman Trophy debate as well.

Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray had another dazzling performance in the Big 12 Championship game, completing 73.5 percent of his passes while throwing for 379 yards and three touchdowns and an additional 39 yards on the ground. And his school, Oklahoma, wants everyone to know how much better he is than Tagovailoa.

Looking at the season-long numbers when comparing Murray and Tagovailoa, it's pretty amazing to see the Oklahoma signal-caller with better numbers in nearly every regard. However, most true college football fans know that Tagovailoa has hardly sniffed the field in most fourth quarters of their games played.

It'll be interesting to see how much the Heisman voters take this newest media package from Oklahoma and apply it to their decision. Tagovailoa's rocky SEC Championship performance, however, might be the freshest thing on their minds.
