Philip Rivers doesn't get the kind of fanfare that most elite signal-callers in the league have received this year, but he's quietly been a top-five fantasy quarterback in 2018. However, if his most recent performances indicate anything, there's a good chance he could end up being the highest scoring QB not named Patrick Mahomes at the end of the fantasy season.

The veteran signal-caller has been absolutely deadly with his deep passes over the past three weeks of the season, owning an unbelievable perfect passer rating on throws that travel 20-plus yards downfield.

If that isn't an indication that Rivers deserves to be in the elite quarterback discussion, I don't know what is.

While impressive, it's unlikely that the veteran quarterback can continue his impressive streak deep into the season. However, as long as he's slinging deep passes with incredible precision, Rivers is a matchup-proof must-start for the rest of the fantasy season. He's definitely done more than enough to prove it.
