Fantasy owners that drafted Jarvis Landry over Josh Gordon can breath easier today, at least for Week 1.
But am I only the only one that thinks Browns head coach Hue Jackson just gave us more of a riddle than an answer on Josh Gordon's status for Week 1?
#Browns Hue Jackson said Josh Gordon will be on pitch count but feels he can still have "huge impact if he plays like we know he can."— Scott Petrak ct (@ScottPetrak) September 5, 2018
You're going to have to try and decipher this one yourself because Jackson's comment seems to contradict itself here.
Claiming that Gordon will be both on a proverbial pitch count and have a huge impact means one of those two things must give for the other to happen. Unless Gordon clocks in for three plays and hauls in three touchdowns, it's hard to see how a guy with a short leash will affect the outcome in a major way. Even for an explosive player like Gordon.
Lately, Gordon's name has practically become synonymous with the questionable tag for a fantasy starter in your lineup on Sundays. And just when you thought he might get the full green light in 2018, it sounds like he's going to be limited for the start.
A full return is far from a guarantee for a player like Gordon, but he should be back to full go at some point within the first few weeks of the season.
