The San Francisco 49ers have rattled off five straight wins and look to make it a sixth when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit on Sunday. While much of the week's attention centered around Jimmy Garoppolo's "season-ending" injury and the emergence of Brock Purdy as QB1, the 49ers also had another big name stuck on the injury report.
Leading the league with 14.5 sacks, Nick Bosa had not practiced once this week because of a hamstring issue. On Sunday morning, the 49ers provided an update on their injured defensive star.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Bosa "will play" despite his "questionable" tag on the injury report. He has played in 11 of the 49ers' 12 games thus far, missing Week 6 in October.
Bosa played a massive role in San Francisco's Week 13 win over the Miami Dolphins. The two-time Pro Bowler racked up a season and career-high 3.0 sacks, to jump his season total to 14.5.
The Buccaneers haven't looked like a championship team so far, but quarterback Tom Brady is always dangerous and thankfully Bosa will have an opportunity to keep him uncomfortable on Sunday. Currently the 49ers are 3.5-point home favorites, per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
