The Cincinnati Bengals have started the season 1-2-1, which is about as good as they would have hoped for. However, the return of veteran wide receiver A.J. Green has been disappointing, at best, and there's less reason to keep him around since they could use this season to build a rapport between Joe Burrow and the younger receivers.
With this in mind, these are three teams who could realistically trade for Green, putting him in a better situation, while also benefiting the Bengals by giving them something in return.
1. New England Patriots
A veteran wide receiver that is seemingly in the final stretch of his career signing with the New England Patriots? Yeah, we've seen this story play out a number of times. The Patriots are in need of an outside wide receiver, with N'Keal Harry struggling, making Damiere Byrd their top choice. If there's a system that could get the most out of what Green could still offer, it's New England.
2. Green Bay Packers
While Aaron Rodgers may be getting used to passing to practice squad players, it could be nice to pair him with a wide receiver with actual receiving talent, outside of Davante Adams. Coach Matt LaFleur loves to utilize big wide receivers and, at 6-foot-4, Green seems to fit the bill. With Green Bay looking like they could make a Super Bowl run, it would be wise for them to work on their wide receiver depth.
3. San Francisco 49ers
While the San Francisco 49ers are getting healthier, offensively, they still do not offer much at wide receiver, after Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Bringing in Green to play even 40 percent of the snaps would be a huge upgrade over what they have, and it would allow them to better compete within their division.
