3 Biggest Favorites to Acquire Deshaun Watson for the 2021 NFL Season
By Larry Rupp

One of the biggest storylines of the NFL offseason is Deshaun Watson and whether or not he will be traded from the Houston Texans. The 25-year-old signal caller is looking for a new start and there are a lot of teams seemingly interested in trading for him.
Nevertheless, it would take significant compensation for the Texans to part with their 2017 first-round pick. With that in mind, here are the three biggest favorites to acquire Watson for the 2021 NFL season, according to player future odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook in Colorado.
3. San Francisco 49ers (+350)
Even though Jimmy Garoppolo has a 22-8 record as the San Francisco 49ers' starting quarterback, it seems like the team still is not sold on him being their franchise player. The 49ers reached the Super Bowl just two years ago, bolstered by a strong defense and running attack. Now think about what would happen if they threw Watson, a Pro Bowl quarterback that led the league in passing last season, into that mix. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has expressed before that the 49ers are in win-now mode, and trading for a player like Watson would certainly prove that.
2. Miami Dolphins (+300)
The Dolphins are another team that looks poised to compete for a Super Bowl title as soon as next season. However, the question remains as to whether or not starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is ready to take them that far. He just finished a rookie season in which he threw for 1,814 yards and tallied 14 total touchdowns in 10 games played. He will need to take a big step forward if the Dolphins want to make and compete in the playoffs. Instead, they could eliminate the risk and trade for Watson to solidify their starting quarterback for years to come. They have the assets to make it happen.
1. Denver Broncos (+300)
The Denver Broncos started off as a long shot to land Watson, but have recently become one of the top landing spots for him. Denver has started six different quarterbacks in the last three seasons and don't seem to trust current starter Drew Lock. He is just 8-10 as the starting quarterback in his career and led the NFL with 15 interceptions last season. Watson has also recently stated that the Broncos are among the NFL teams that "intrigued him." Denver in desperate need of a franchise quarterback and acquiring Watson would solve that problem immediately.
