PGA Tour players are heading up to Maryland this week for the Wells Fargo Championship at TPC Potomac. With just a couple weeks to prepare for the PGA Championship, this could be an important tune up event for many.

Wells Fargo Championship Golf Picks

While picking the top guys can be tempting, let's take a look at a few golfers that have longer odds to consider wagering on. Here are three dark-horse picks for the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship.

Odds to win the Wells Fargo Championship are from FanDuel Sportsbook.

1. Cameron Young (+4100)

Cameron Young is quietly putting together a pretty impressive season thus far. He already has six top-20 finishes, and three top-5 finishes within that, including a T-3 in his last start at the RBC Heritage. Coinciding with a trend from our fantasy sleepers article, Young has been great off the tee this season, ranking No. 5 on. tour in Driving Distance and No. 3 in Strokes Gained (SG): Off-The-Tee. Young could very well ride this momentum to another top-5 finish and maybe even a win.

2. Marc Leishman (+4100)

Marc Leishman has been incredibly consistent this season, missing only one cut in his 13 official tour events. He has improved his finishing position every week in the three weeks since that missed cut. Leishman has turned a strong short game into success, ranking 23rd on tour in SG: Total. Furthermore, Leishman has two starts on this course as a professional, more than most others in the event. He finished T-13 and T-5 respectively in those two starts.

3. Matt Kuchar (+5000)

We're somewhat bucking the trend with Kuchar here, going with someone that never played the course as a professional and hasn't been great off the tee so far this season, but he's been playing great golf his last three events, finishing T-16, T-2 and T-3. His short game has been exceptional, ranking No. 2 on tour in SG: Around-The-Green and No. 10 in SG: Putting. I'll take Kuch to compete and have a chance to win anytime with odds like that and playing this well coming into the event.
