NFL fans can taste the excitement in the air as the 2022 season is less than two months away. First, each of the 32 teams must make it through training camp, with the Buffalo Bills' rookies kicking things off on Monday, July 18 before the veterans join on Saturday, July 23.

Even though the Bills are already seen as Super Bowl favorites, head coach Sean McDermott must make tough decisions at training. Buffalo is still searching for its first championship and if cutting certain veterans gives the team a better shot at succeeding, McDermott must be prepared to make that choice.

Here's a look at three Bills veterans who could be cut during training camp.

Bills Training Camp

1. Zack Moss, RB

Even though this is only his third training camp, Zack Moss is already on thin ice. The former 2020 third-round pick just isn't showing significant improvement, finishing with fewer than 500 rushing yards in each of his last two seasons despite playing in a highly talented Buffalo offense. With the likes of rookie RB James Cook and veteran rusher Duke Johnson breathing down his neck, Moss' margin for era has shrunk. If he can't impress at training camp, his time with the Bills could soon be over.

2. Matt Haack, P

One of the top stories coming out of the 2022 NFL Draft was the Bills' drafting of former San Diego State punter Matt Araiza. Buffalo used a sixth-round pick on the "Punt God" for a reason, while every report sounds like they're incredibly high on the rookie. That isn't exactly great news for Haack, who was the reason why the Bills averaged the second-fewest yards per punt (42.1) in 2021. Despite his lack of NFL experience, Araiza clearly has the upper hand in the punting competition, meaning Haack must impress at camp or be prepared to find a new job elsewhere.

3. Marquel Lee, ILB

The Bills shook up their linebacker room this season, adding veteran interior defender Marquel Lee to the mix back in March. Even though he hasn't played a snap for his new team yet, Lee isn't exactly safe. The 26-year-old hasn't really impressed in limited action over the years, recording 115 tackles in 45 games (19) starts since 2017. It's important to point out that Lee has already been a training camp cut by the Bills, having signed with them in March 2021 as well before being cut five months later. Unless he stands out at camp and shows that this time is different, fans shouldn't hold their breath when it comes to seeing him wear a Bills jersey this season.
