The Philadelphia Eagles' season can best be explained through the number of injuries they have suffered. However, they were able to pull together at the end of the season and win the NFC East, allowing them to host the Seattle Seahawks this weekend. Unfortunately, the Eagles may again be without their top receiving threat in Zach Ertz.
How many injuries will be too many for the Eagles to overcome? We may have that answer this weekend, as Philadelphia will be without a number of players on the offensive side of the ball.
We already knew about wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery being out, and guard Brandon Brooks joins them on the shelf and will be out for the entirety of the playoffs. The Eagles could also again be without wide receiver Nelson Agholor and top tight end Ertz, leaving few weapons for Carson Wentz.
Ertz led the team with 916 receiving yards this season, serving as Wentz's go-to guy in crucial moments. He missed last week's game with a fractured rib and lacerated kidney. In his absence, running back Boston Scott led the team in receiving, with 84 yards, followed by tight ends Dallas Goedert (65) and Josh Perkins (50).
If Ertz can't go, look for Goedert to play a huge role in the Philly offense against a Seahawks defense that allowed the NFL's second-most PPR fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in the regular season.
With Ertz not yet being cleared for contact, his availability for this weekend does not look good. Wentz and Doug Pederson may have to pull out more tricks to overcome the huge list of ailments on the Eagles' injury report.
Accounting for Ertz missing this game, Dallas Goedert is the top tight end in our Wild Card Weekend fantasy rankings.
