Von Miller has to be excited about what's brewing for the Denver Broncos' 2020 season. They opened last year looking doomed for a long rebuild, but they finished strong with Drew Lock at the helm, and suddenly they could be poised to make a playoff push in 2020.

Miller is already one of the greatest Broncos defenders of all time, and he looks to still be in his prime. He even ranks in the top 10 in the odds to win Defensive Player of the Year next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Von Miller NFL Defensive Player of the Year Odds

At +1800, Von Miller is tied with J.J. Watt for the sixth-best odds in the NFL. Only Stephon Gilmore (+1600), T.J. Watt (+1500), Nick Bosa (+1300), Khalil Mack (+1100) and Aaron Donald (+750) rank ahead of him.

Miller has never won the award, but the three-time First-Team All-Pro has regularly been in the conversation. His production did fall off in 2019, with only 8.0 sacks (his fewest since his nine-game 2013 season), but he's still playing at a high level.

His 20 quarterback hits weren't far behind his average of 24.3 from the previous three seasons, and things really picked up when the Broncos started winning. In the four games Miller played after Lock took over at QB, he had 8 QB hits — a pace that would give him 32 over 16 games. He only had that many once in his career.

Still playing at an elite level, and with a team positioned to take a step forward, Miller could finally add a Defensive Player of the Year award to his trophy case, which already includes the 2011 Defensive Rookie of the Year and Super Bowl MVP honors.
