The Minnesota Vikings' quarterback depth chart has been a hot topic this offseason. First the team selected Kellen Mond in the NFL Draft as a possible Kirk Cousins successor. Then almost the entire QB room was briefly sidelined to start training camp due to COVID protocols.

Having depth at the position will be important for the team throughout the year, so they've brought back a former Viking to serve on their practice squad.

Sean Mannion Vikings

Minnesota is reuniting with QB Sean Mannion by signing him to their practice squad. The Oregon State product was recently cut by the Seattle Seahawks, but his familiarity with the Vikings likely helped him land on his feet quickly.

Mannion appeared in three games for Minnesota during the 2019 campaign, including a start in Week 17. He recorded 12 completions for 126 passing yards with zero TDs and 2 INTs in relief efforts.

The journeyman started his career with the then-St. Louis Rams, recording 384 yards and 3 INTs across 10 games in four seasons.

Mannion at least provides head coach Mike Zimmer another option in case of emergency, and his previous stint with the team means the signal-caller will need less time to get settled in.

The Vikings own -106 odds to make the playoffs this season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
