The Minnesota Vikings are in search of a new defensive coordinator after letting Ed Donatell go on the heels of their early Wild Card Weekend exit during the NFL Playoffs. The franchise has already been linked to a few candidates, although they took a more official step on Thursday.

According to NFL insider Albert Breet, the Vikings are conducting an interview with Pittsburgh Steelers coach Brian Flores.

Brian Flores Vikings Rumors

Flores is a hot commodity this offseason. He's reportedly in the running for the Arizona Cardinals' head coaching gig, having three years of experience at the helm for the Miami Dolphins from 2019-21.

Flores joined the Steelers after his dramatic firing from the Dolphins, working as a senior defensive assistant in 2022.

Pittsburgh finished the season No. 10 in points allowed and No. 13 in yards allowed, providing more evidence of Flores' strong defensive mind. He could potentially provide a big boost to Minnesota's lackluster unit, which ranked 28th and 31st in those categories last year.
