With NFL free agency rapidly approaching, teams are cutting down their rosters to free up cap space. That has added some very interesting players to this year's loaded pool of available free agents.

Pro Football Focus has projected one of this year's top available free agents to sign with the Minnesota Vikings — former New York Giants guard Kevin Zeitler.

Even after releasing Riley Reiff, guard is probably the biggest position of need in the Minnesota offense. Dakota Dozier has finished 69th out of 83 (2019) and 77th out of 80 (2020) among Pro Football Focus' qualifying guards in each of the last two seasons.

Even in a down year in 2020, Zeitler's 65.9 overall grade beats anything Dozier has posted since 2016 (when he played just 144 snaps). And that's saying nothing of Zeitler's 76.4 grade from 2019, which beats all but one of the Vikings' starting offensive linemen from last season.

The Vikings allowed the NFL's 10th highest sack rate (7.0%) in 2020, and they clearly need to make some improvements up front. Signing Zeitler would be a nice, cost-effective way to start that process.
