Joe Montana spent 13 years with the San Francisco 49ers. When he retired he was generally regarded as the greatest quarterback of all-time. In fact, Montana's name is essentially synonymous with the 49ers – you can't think of one without thinking of the other.

So even the most ardent NFL fans would be forgiven if they forgot Montana actually spent two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs after leaving the Bay Area. And he was really good in KC too.

In his first season with the Chiefs, Montana earned himself a Pro Bowl nod after tallying 2,144 yards and 13 touchdowns to 7 interceptions in 11 games. He even led the team to an appearance in the AFC Championship Game, though the Chiefs would lose to the Buffalo Bills, 30-13.

Montana's Chiefs weren't quite as good the following year, as they went 9-5 across his his 14 starts.

Even though Montana was actually pretty effective during his time in Kansas City, seeing him in a Chiefs jersey will always feel like an all-time NFL oddity.
