Major League Baseball has had dozens of interesting personalities over the years, whether we're talking about players or managers. When it comes to the eccentric managers, few were as entertaining and captivating as Bobby Valentine.

In fact, Thursday actually marks the 23rd anniversary of Valentine pulling off one of the greatest managerial moves in the history of the sport. Anyone familiar with baseball should know exactly where this is going.

On June 9, 1999, Valentine and his New York Mets were in an extra-innings battle against the Toronto Blue Jays. After Mets catcher Mike Piazza was called for a rare interference, Valentine argued the call, resulting in his ejection... only for the New York bench boss to return in a disguise.

The absolute hilarity that ensues upon Valentine's return is unmatched. Between the sunglasses and the fake moustache, it's not a surprise that it's become one of the most iconic moments in MLB history. It isn't tough imagining it becoming a viral moment had it happened during the social media age.

Some managers may have had their careers defined by such a moment, but not Valentine. While it's a memorable part of his career, he still owned a 1,186-1,165 managerial record that includes a World Series appearance in 2000.

Valentine was clearly ahead of the times throughout his career. He had the type of personality that would've attracted fans to baseball today, leaving time to tell if we'll ever see some like him in the MLB again.
