VIDEO: Mike Tomlin Calling Kenny Pickett Will Give Steelers Fans Chills

The Pittsburgh Steelers finally got their guy. Pittsburgh stayed put at No. 20 and had its choice of every single top quarterback from the 2022 draft class. They eventually landed on Pitt QB Kenny Pickett as their new potential franchise player under center.

The team released some behind-the-scenes footage of head coach Mike Tomlin calling Pickett to inform him he's the Steelers' choice, and it should give fans chills.

Tomlin enters the room bursting with enthusiasm as he quickly makes his way to a nearby phone. The head coach is heard saying things like "let's go!" and "that's awesome" as he rings up Pickett.

Once he gets Pickett on the phone, Tomlin slyly asks "what's up?" and "what you doing tonight?" He even jokes about Pickett "watching TV" on Thursday night as if the draft isn't even going on.

Tomlin then drops the life-changing truth: "We're about to make you a Pittsburgh Steeler." The veteran head coach is smiling throughout the call, which shows how excited the team is about landing Pickett.

Hopefully the gunslinger will prove to be a worthy successor to Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh.
