Tension continues to build over the new foreign substance policy across baseball. Chicago White Sox starter Lance Lynn had a run-in with third-base umpire Nic Lentz during Wednesday's game, which resulted in Lynn being ejected.

The 2021 All-Star didn't hold back when asked about the incident after the game.

Lynn's ejection stemmed from a mandatory foreign substance check after the fourth inning. The starter quickly came off the mound and headed into the dugout to talk with trainers. He left his glove and hat on the dugout railing, but forgot his belt.

While he was talking with team staff, Lentz asked to see Lynn's belt. Then the White Sox standout threw his belt in Lentz's direction, which earned him an ejection despite protests from Lynn and manager Tony La Russa.

After the game, Lynn said, "Obviously, I hurt his feelings." It's clear he thought the ejection was unwarranted and wasn't happy about being forced to leave his start after just four innings.

Chicago still went on to get the 3-2 win over the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. Now the team will wait on news of a possible suspension for Lynn given his belt throw and postgame comments.

The White Sox currently own the third-best odds to win the World Series at +650, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
