D'Andre Swift has solidified himself as one of the best pass-catching running backs in the league. The fact he's only heading into his third season makes Detroit Lions fans even more excited to see what extra levels he has to unlock.
If this play from training camp is any indication, Swift's only getting better as a receiver.
Quarterback Jared Goff connected with Swift on a pretty pass at training camp practice Friday, throwing a dime near the sideline and putting the ball where only his receiver could get it. Swift stepped up to the challenge by hauling it in and getting both feet down for an impressive touchdown catch.
This highlight is sure to get Lions fans buzzing. Swift being able to line up outside of the backfield and beat defenders even more regularly would be a great development for Detroit's offense.
Swift is coming off of his first 1,000-yard season from scrimmage, and his receiving production was big part of that success. He ranked tied for fifth among RBs with 452 receiving yards in 2021, and his 62 receptions clocked in at No. 4.
Though the Lions have made some improvements to their wide receiver corps, Swift will surely see plenty of opportunities to make plays as a pass-catcher in 2022
