By Max Staley

The games don't have to count for the NFL to break your heart. Ladies and gentleman, the first bad beat of the 2019 NFL season is in, and it's a doozy.
Leading 10-7 with 1:33 left in the game, the Atlanta Falcons forced the Denver Broncos into a 4th-and-14 situation. Then this happened.

A tipped ball, game-winning TD is never easy to stomach, even in the preseason. But on the bright side, this will likely prepare bettors emotionally for what's sure to be another regular season full of bad beats.

The Falcons still had a chance to win the game when they got the ball back with 1:26 left on a clock. Matt Schaub even gave bettors hope, completing a 12-yard pass on his first attempt of the drive. Unfortunately, two consecutive false starts, followed by three consecutive incompletions, snuffed out any hopes of a comeback for Atlanta.

Even though this was just a preseason game, those who bet on the Falcons still took a tough beat. Bettors will simply have to hope their luck turns around when these games start to matter.
