The kicker position is easily the most overlooked part of any fantasy football roster. Most fantasy players probably drafted a kicker with no plans to think much about the position until their starter's bye week rolled around.
That's leaving points on the board, though — just ask anyone who got 25 points from Stephen Gostkowski in Week 3. It may not be fun to spend time every week thinking about the kicker position, but it can be incredibly valuable.
With that in mind, these three kickers, all available in at least 50 percent of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues, are great options to grab off the waiver wire to start in Week 4.
3. Ka'imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans (23% Rostered)
Ka'imi Fairbairn has attempted just 4 field goals this season, and it's hard to chalk that up to much more than bad luck. Houston has happened to score TDs on 85.7 percent of their red zone appearances, which ranks No. 3 in the NFL. For context, a middle-of-the-pack rate is about 61.5 percent (which would be tied for 16th in the NFL). The Houston offense is good, but a rate that high is unsustainable for any team (only one team in the league had a rate above 70 percent in 2019). Fairbairn and the Texans are 4.5-point favorites in a game with a hefty 54.5-point over/under on FanDuel Sportsbook, and he should get plenty of scoring opportunities in Week 4.
2. Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks (50% Rostered)
Even more ridiculous than the Texans' rate, Seattle has scored a TD on 100 percent of their red zone trips in 2020. Again, that's hugely unsustainable, even if Seattle is legitimately the best red zone offense in the NFL. Jason Myers isn't going to continue attempting 14 extra points for every 1 field goal like he has so far this season. The Seahawks' offense should be in for another big game against the Miami Dolphins, and Myers' upside is huge in this one.
1. Sam Sloman, Los Angeles Rams (1% Rostered)
Sam Sloman hasn't been anything special this season, scoring between 6 and 8 fantasy points in each of his three games while missing 2 of his 6 field goal and 1 of his 9 extra point attempts. This week's matchup against the New York Giants makes him an outstanding play, however. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Los Angeles Rams as Week 4's second biggest favorite (12.5 points), and the New York Giants rank bottom-five in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric. Sloman is available in just about every fantasy league, and he checks in at No. 11 in our Week 4 fantasy football rankings.
