Top 12 Fantasy Football Defense Rankings for Week 14

Defenses are sometimes left as an afterthought in fantasy football, but Week 13 served as another reminder as to just how important they can be. Anyone who got a whopping 29 points out of the New England Patriots' D/ST can attest to that. And that's all especially true now that most fantasy leagues are into the playoffs.
With that in mind, here are our fantasy football defense rankings for Week 14.
12. Chicago Bears (vs HOU)
11. Indianapolis Colts (at LV)
10. New York Giants (vs AZ)
The New York Giants' defense is officially playing like a true top-10 unit. New York is currently surrendering just 22.1 points per game (PPG), which is tied for the eighth-best mark in the league. This unit is also only surrendering 16.5 PPG over its last four. Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals have committed 8 turnovers over their last six outings, with Kyler Murray taking a whopping 11 sacks over his last five appearances. With the Giants' defense having forced 10 turnovers over their last four games, and boasting a top-10 sack rate, New York is a great streaming option here.
9. Kansas City Chiefs (at MIA)
8. Baltimore Ravens (at CLE)
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (at BUF)
6. Denver Broncos (at CAR)
The Carolina Panthers' offense is coming into this one really shorthanded. A total of eight players were just added to the COVID-reserve list, including DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel. Plus, Christian McCaffrey looks to be in line to miss this one as well. With the Denver Broncos surrendering just 22.0 PPG over their last three, it could be tough for Carolina to move the ball much come Sunday. Denver also ranks top-five in terms of pressures (115) on the year, so a short-handed Carolina offense could be looking at a lot more sacks than usual in Week 14.
5. Seattle Seahawks (vs NYJ)
4. Washington Football Team (at SF)
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs MIN)
2. Los Angeles Rams (vs NE)
1. New Orleans Saints (at PHI)
The New Orleans Saints have looked like the best defense in football recently. Over their last five weeks they're surrendering just 8.8 PPG, holding their opponent to 55.8 rushing yards per game. That elite run defense means the Philadelphia Eagles will be forced to throw early and often. Whether it's Carson Wentz or Jalen Hurts at the helm, that's a recipe for disaster against a defense playing at the peak of its powers.
