Todd Gurley Shares Surprising Stance on Retirement

Todd Gurley was named to the All-Pro first team in 2018 and look poised to keep making defenders miss for years to come. However, knee injuries led to decreased production in the following two seasons and the 27-year-old remains unsigned. It doesn't seem to be bothering him one bit, though.

Todd Gurley Retirement
Gurley recently spoke with NBC Sports and explained that there wasn't one time during the 2021 season that he wished he was out on the field. He was able to accomplish things he dreamed about in the NFL, but now turns his attention to other endeavors such as the Fan Controlled Football League.
The three-time Pro Bowler invested in the Beasts alongside former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch in early May. Gurley is also spending a lot of time with his family without the rigors of football on his mind. Although, it is worth noting that he still hasn't ruled out a return to the sport in the future.
"Football-wise, just taking it day-by-day. Being part of ownership groups of different companies, that's what I'm focusing on."
- Todd Gurley
Gurley last played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020 and averaged a career-low 3.5 yards per carry. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Rams, where he racked up at least 1,800 yards from scrimmage each year and was named the Offensive Player of the Year in 2017.
Running back has always been a position that undergoes a lot of wear and tear during the season, which leads to a lot of injuries. It's certainly possible that a team reaches out to Gurley in the future.
