The Tennessee Titans are desperate to get back to the AFC Championship, or further, after a pair of early playoff exits in back-to-back years. That adds a level of importance to this offseason as Tennessee hopes to surround Derrick Henry and company with enough talent to make some noise in the playoffs.

Tennessee started this process on Thursday by adding more flexibility to their cap space with the release of a 7-year veteran offensive lineman.

The Titans released Kendall Lamm after just one season with the team. The former Appalachian State product signed a two-year deal prior to last season while only appearing in 12 games. His release saves Tennessee $3.2 million against the cap and cost $850,000 in dead cap space, or about $2.35 million in net savings.

Tennessee is not working to get back under the cap, but the team only possesses about $4.8 million in current space. The Titans do need to improve their offensive line after allowing the seventh-most sacks (47) in football a year ago.

Lamm received a lowly 46.9 rating by PFF and there's a clear opportunity to upgrade with somewhat affordable options such as Jason Peters or Conor McDermott on the market.

The Titans currently hold +2400 odds (10th) to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook. Upgrading the offensive line is only going to sweeten their chances.
