Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd was pulled early from his start on Monday against the Kansas City Royals, leaving the team and fans concerned. After the game, manager AJ Hinch confirmed the fears by saying it's likely Boyd will be headed to the injured list.
Boyd reportedly felt something in his tricep, which is what caused him to hit the locker room early on Monday.
Boyd is only 3-6 on the season, but does hold a respectable 3.44 ERA. With staff ace Spencer Turnbull already out, losing Boyd hurts even more for Detroit, a team that currently sits in 4th place in the AL Central at 27-39.
The Tigers currently have +20000 odds to win the AL Central, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest MLB odds.
