Tigers Closer Shane Greene Fantasy Baseball Stock Up Making Pitcher Good Sell-High Trade Candidate

Detroit Tigers closer Shane Green has arguably been one of biggest surprises of the fantasy baseball season. With an Average Draft Position (ADP) outside the top 200, Greene was simply a late-round flier for those fantasy owners in dire need of a potential saves sleeper.
Now, 10 games into the MLB season for the Tigers, Greene is setting saves records.
Shane Greene becomes first player since MLB recognized the save statistic 50 years ago to record seven saves in team's first 10 games.

The 30-year-old righty is off to a historic start to the 2019 season, closing out all seven of the team's wins during its surprising 7-3 start. In doing so, he became the first player in MLB history to record seven saves through his team's first 10 games of the season.
But, despite this success, trading Greene could be a good option for his fantasy owners as he will never have more value than he does right now.

Green's phenomenal start could be sustainable, as he had a 2.66 ERA in 67 2/3 innings with 73 Ks in the 2017 season. And then last season, he racked up 32 saves in 38 opportunities.
But swapping a player that you either got off the waiver wire or drafted beyond pick 200 in your recent draft, can only pay dividends. Trading away Greene could net his fantasy owners something that isn't widely available on waivers as there's typically a closer carousel on most MLB teams.
As the whole point of making moves in fantasy baseball continues to be to buy low and sell high, moving Greene for a big hitter or quality starting pitcher could be your best move right now.
