The New York Giants are in the middle of a full rebuild. They have their quarterback, with Daniel Jones. They have a new head coach, in Joe Judge. The offense has playmakers and should look improved, but the defense is still lacking talent. One of the greatest areas of need is at edge rusher, and Jadeveon Clowney would be a perfect fit.
Jadeveon Clowney Giants
It was rumored that Clowney recently turned down a big contract with the Cleveland Browns. With the Browns looking to compete, this could indicate that Clowney placing equal importance on money and a chance to win as part of his decision-making equation. If he joins the Giants, he would be able to enjoy New York City, or live on the New Jersey side of things.
Pairing Clowney alongside another dominating player like Leonard Williams would be a feared duo up front. This would be a pairing that could stop the run just as well as get after the quarterback.
While Clowney's individual stats suffered last season with the Seattle Seahawks, his impact was seemingly as good as ever, posting the seventh-best pass rush win rate among edge defenders. With the Giants totaling 36.0 sacks last season (No. 22 in the NFL), the acquisition of Clowney could be enough to push the Giants' pass rush into the top half of the league.
