Taysom Hill was thrust into the role of starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints after Drew Brees went down in Week 10. Hill earned the nod over Jameis Winston, despite Winston's prior experience as a starter and Hill's lack thereof.

So far, head coach Sean Payton's decision has worked out well for the team. Hill is 3-0 as a starter, and he believes in his ability to be a starting QB in the league long-term.

Hill has talked with head coach Sean Payton about being a starter, and the coach seems to have full confidence in the young QB.

“Coach [Payton] and I have had, we’ve had a few conversations about [being a starter]. And I have said that. He knows how I feel about how I can play and I know how he feels about me, too.”

Hill has earned wins in each of his three starts with Brees sidelined. The quarterback is coming off of his best all-around peformance in Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons, when he threw for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 83 yards on the ground.

With Brees preparing to return, his run as starter is likely coming to a close, at least for this season. It's unclear what the future holds for Hill now that he's gotten a taste of a bigger role, but he's shown he's worth consideration for the Saints in the future.
