Taysom Hill Discusses Trying to Follow in Drew Brees’ Footsteps

Things will look different for the New Orleans Saints this season. Franchise legend Drew Brees has retired, leaving a huge hole at quarterback without his presence there to steady the ship.
But, Taysom Hill is ready to step up and try to fill Brees' shoes at QB.

Hill stated the obvious by saying there's no one can truly replace Brees and his impact in New Orleans. But the 30-year-old now sees an opportunity for himself to fulfill his NFL goal of being a starting quarterback.
"When I first got here and I started doing all this stuff, the answer when I was asked 'Hey, what's the end goal for you?' has always been to play quarterback. I'm a quarterback at heart and that's my mindset. That is really nice when I can tailor all of my offseason program to being as good of a quarterback as I possibly can."

Hill has already made changes to his approach this offseason after being a part-time QB and tight end since landing in New Orleans. His preparation has been solely focused at quarterback with the chance he has to compete.
Veteran and experienced former starter Jameis Winston is considered the favorite to earn the starting gig, but it's clear that Hill is motivated to give it his all in training camp for a chance to carry on the torch from Brees.
