The New York Mets continue their topsy turvy ride regarding their stalled negotiations with superstar shortstop Carlos Correa. Just a few days after a report surfaced that New York has grown by the process, team owner Steve Cohen spoke to a team insider on Saturday with a slightly different tune.

Here's what Cohen had to say about the status of Correa's negotiations.

According to Tyler Ward, who runs a Mets' YouTube page, Cohen sees an end in sight.

“While I can’t speak on the player, I do believe we’ll have a resolution soon one way or the other."

It's not exactly a positive sign in the negotiations, but at the very least, the Mets fanbase won't have to continue this tumultuous ride for much longer.

The need for a resolution makes sense for all of the parties involved. If Correa's 12-year deal stays intact, the Mets can ramp up their prepartion for the 2023 season with a full roster intact. Even if the sides go different ways, New York can get back to the drawing board and examine the trade market for other valuable stars. And it allows Correa to make a final decision on where he's playing in 2023.
