The Pittsburgh Steelers' coaching staff has stayed pretty much intact after the end of the season. The team did suffer one notable loss, though, as Brian Flores left his post as linebackers coach to become defensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings.

Now it appears Mike Tomlin has landed on an intriguing replacement for Flores.

Matt Zenitz of On3Sports reports the Steelers are expected to hire Aaron Curry as their new LBs coach. Many might recognize Curry's name considering he was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Seattle Seahawks.

The former linebacker played four seasons in the NFL, most of which were with Seattle. He logged his final pro snap with the Oakland Raiders in 2012 and retired in 2013 before transitioning to the coaching ranks. Curry rejoined the Seahawks as an assistant in 2019, and he's spent each of the past four years with his old team.

Flores is a hard act to follow considering his defensive prowess, but Curry's experience as a former top pick is valuable as well. At just 36 years old, Curry should arrive very motivated to prove himself in Flores' absence.
