Steelers Fans Will Hate Peter King's 2022 NFL Power Rankings

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping that the post-Ben Roethlisberger era will bring better results compared to recent years. The Steelers haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 NFL season and look to break that trend in 2022.
However, after their recent shortcomings, not everyone has as much faith in the Steelers. In fact, NBC Sports' Peter King is ranking Pittsburgh at No. 23 in his 2022 NFL power rankings.

Pittsburgh Steelers Power Ranking
If that wasn't bad enough for Steelers fans, King is projecting their team to be the worst in the AFC North Division, ranking them worse than the Cincinnati Bengals (No. 7), Baltimore Ravens (No. 8) and Cleveland Browns (No. 18).
With Roethlisberger's rapid decline, Mitch Trubisky and rookie QB Kenny Pickett shouldn't be that much of a downgrade. They have solid weapons in Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson and Pat Freiermuth to work with, along with an offensive line that was upgraded this offseason.
The Steelers also need their defense to play more consistently than last season after giving up 24.4 PPG (No. 22). Fortunately, they have 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt on their side, along with other noteworthy names like Stephon Tuitt, Devin Bush and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is one of the best in the game and has the experience to get his team to buy into his program after last year's disappointment. Assuming everything works out, Pittsburgh should compete for a playoff spot at the very least in 2022.
Unfortunately, the 'Black and Yellow' have a lot to prove before people are convinced of any potential success. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Steelers favored to miss the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs at -380 odds.
