The Pittsburgh Steelers will be fighting for their playoff lives down the stretch, but they'll have to do so with a new offensive line coach. Adrian Klemm is leaving the coaching staff in order to take up the same position with the Oregon Ducks. The 44-year-old was let out on Monday to start his new job.

This was only Klemm's first season as Pittsburgh's O-line coach after spending time as an assistant. He has also worked with the SMU Mustangs and UCLA Bruins in the past. While the assumption was that Klemm would leave after the season ended, head coach Mike Tomlin has let him leave early.

Chris Morgan is likely to take over the role moving forward and could earn the job for the 2022 season as well. The long-time offensive line coach has his work cut out for him, though. The Steelers currently have two rookies and a second-year pro blocking along the line for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

This could be the first of a few changes made in Pittsburgh with the team in danger of missing the playoffs for the third time in the last four years. Of course, rumors continue to swirl about Big Ben's possible retirement and whether or not the Steelers will end up drafting a new QB in the spring.

For now, Tomlin & company will aim to defeat the Cleveland Browns in Week 17 in order to stay alive in the playoff race. FanDuel Sportsbook has Pittsburgh slated as 3-point home underdogs in that AFC North showdown.
