Star Rookie Preparing to Play Multiple Positions for Orioles

As Gunnar Henderson gears up for his first full season in the big leagues, he's willing to do whatever he can to help his team win.
That includes playing multiple positions, which the Baltimore Orioles may ask him to do in 2023.

The 21-year-old rookie has been practicing at shortstop and third base ahead of Spring Training, which opens in a few weeks. Henderson played both positions during his brief stint with the Orioles last year (as well as second base), so he wants to be ready for anything.
A former top prospect, Henderson is regarded as one of the best young players in baseball and is essentially the second coming of Manny Machado for Baltimore. He batted an impressive .259/.348/.440 with 12 extra-base hits and 18 RBIs in 34 games after getting called up last year, helping the Orioles stay in the Wild Card race down the stretch.
Big things are expected from Henderson this year, as he's currently favored to win AL Rookie of the Year (+280) on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds. His success at the plate and in the field will go a long way toward helping Baltimore have another competitive season, especially if he's able to provide some defensive versatility.
