Titans News
Simmons was the Titans' first-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft and he stepped up to take on a bigger role last season. The 23-year-old playmaker racked up 49 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 5 pass breakups and 3 fumble recoveries across 15 starts for Tennessee in 2020. He also had 14 quarterback hits.
More importantly, Simmons proved to be one of the best run-stoppers in the league. In fact, his statistics played out so well that the Titans could count on a run against them going for almost a yard less when Simmons was on the field versus when he was on the sidelines.
With a full offseason of programs and practices, Simmons has the opportunity to improve even more before kickoff in September. He will once again play a key role on a Titans' defense looking to upgrade from its average of 27.0 points per game allowed last season (No. 24 in NFL).
Simmons may not be a household name quite yet, but that could change as early as next season. The Titans currently have odds set at +115 to win the AFC south division and odds set at +2800 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
